How much does a wedding videographer cost in Brisbane?

· Sean Harman

It's the first question most couples Google and the last one most videographers answer. Here's an honest breakdown of what wedding videography actually costs in Brisbane in 2026, based on the market as it is, not a sales pitch.

The short answer

Most Brisbane couples invest between $2,500 and $6,000 for a professional wedding videographer. Solo filmmakers typically start around $2,500–$3,500 for a highlight film package; premium studios with second shooters and multi-day coverage run $6,000–$10,000+.

What changes the price

  • Coverage hours. Getting-ready-to-first-dance coverage (8–10 hours) costs more than a ceremony-and-reception package (4–6 hours).
  • Deliverables. A 4–6 minute highlight film is standard. Adding a documentary edit of the full ceremony, speeches and vows adds editing days, and cost.
  • Travel. Most Brisbane filmmakers cover the city included; Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and destination weddings usually add a travel fee.
  • Audio. Serious filmmakers record dedicated audio (lapel mics, recorders at the ceremony and speeches). It's the difference between a film you rewatch and a pretty montage, and it's priced in.
  • Super 8 or film-look. Analog and hybrid formats are trending; expect a premium.

What you should get for your money

Whoever you book, me or someone else, make sure these are included, because they're what separate a professional film from a friend-with-a-camera:

  • Two audio sources at the ceremony (vows are the whole point)
  • A written contract with delivery timeframes (ask: how many weeks?)
  • Backup cameras and a backup shooter plan for illness
  • Licensed music: the song must be cleared or your film can't be shared
  • A style you can see: watch full films, not 30-second reels
The question isn't "can we afford a videographer" is "in thirty years, do we want to hear our vows again?"

For transparency, my own 2026 packages: Your Memories (7 hours, extended highlights reel) is $2,500 plus GST; Your Story (7 hours, up-to-5-minute highlights film plus social reel) is $3,600 plus GST; and Your Legacy (8 hours, complete ceremony and speeches films, drone) is $4,600 plus GST. The full itemised list: hourly rates, documentary edits, drone, live streaming, is published on my 2026 price list.

When to book

Peak-season Saturdays (October–May) book out 12–18 months ahead in Brisbane. If you're planning a winter wedding or a Friday, you'll have more choice, and sometimes better rates.
